Kindness Advent Calendar: December 18, 2025 (Day 18)

👐 Practice Patience 👐

Welcome to Day 18 of your Kindness Advent Calendar! Throughout December, we will provide you with your daily act of kindness through our Kindness Advent Calendar! Come and celebrate the holiday season as we are kind all December long.

The holiday season moves quickly. Lines are longer, schedules are fuller, and emotions often run high. In moments like these, patience can feel difficult to hold onto. Today's Kindness is a reminder to slow down and practice patience with ourselves and with others.

Practicing patience means choosing understanding over frustration. It means recognizing that everyone is carrying something we cannot see. A delayed response, a mistake, or a moment of overwhelm is often not intentional. Offering patience creates space for grace, connection, and calm.

Patience also applies inward. Being patient with yourself allows you to move through the season without constant pressure to rush or be perfect. It permits you to take things one step at a time and to accept that not everything will go according to plan.

When we choose patience, we soften situations that could otherwise become tense. A calm response, a deep breath, or a moment of pause can change the tone of an entire interaction. Patience is a quiet form of kindness, but its impact is powerful.

Today, make patience your practice. Slow your pace. Listen a little longer. Breathe before reacting. In doing so, you help create a kinder and more compassionate holiday season for yourself and everyone around you.

"When you have a bad day, a really bad day, try and treat the world better than it treated you."
