Kindness Advent Calendar: December 21, 2023 (Day 21)

12/21/2023

☃️❄️Happy Winter❄️☃️

Welcome to Day 21 of your Kindness Advent Calendar! Throughout December, we will provide you with your daily act of kindness through our Kindness Advent Calendar! Come and celebrate the holiday season as we are kind all December long.

The 2023 Winter Solstice has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere, today, December 21!

The winter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It occurs annually between December 20th and December 23rd.

The winter solstice is marked by the point at which the North Pole is at its farthest from the sun during its yearly orbit around the sun. It will be approximately 23 degrees away from the sun. Despite the temperature outside, the winter solstice is considered the astronomical beginning of winter. Meteorological winter begins December 1st and lasts until the end of February. It's marked by the coldest average temperatures during the year.

With the changing of the seasons come reflections and goals. And allergies. A seasonal reflection is a time to review and reflect on the past seasons' accomplishments, your goals, and where you are at with them. This is when you can take time to hit the pause button on life for a moment to decide how you want to keep moving forward.

Maybe you noticed you didn't spend as much time on your goals as you would have liked. Or ate out too much and didn't save as much money as you had hoped. Or you didn't get to hang out with friends and family as much.

Each seasonal reflection gives you a chance to start over, re-evaluate, and make a new plan.

Maybe make some goals for the new year! New Year's resolutions take time to plan so you can start on that today!

So grab your Peppermint Mocha and turn on Jack Frost! Then sit down to reflect and plan!

"Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection."

~ Winston Churchill
