Kindness Advent Calendar: December 7, 2025 (Day 7)
πβπΌTo Whom It May ConcernβπΌπ
Welcome to Day 7 of your Kindness Advent Calendar! Throughout December, we will provide you with your daily act of kindness through our Kindness Advent Calendar! Come and celebrate the holiday season as we are kind all December long.
December 7 is National Letter Writing Day, a celebration of handwritten notes and the personal touch they bring. In a world filled with quick texts and instant messages, a letter stands out as something meaningful. Taking the time to sit down, choose your words, and write them by hand shows care, intention, and thoughtfulness.
A handwritten letter can become a gift that lasts. Whether you write to a friend, a family member, someone you miss, or someone who could use encouragement, your words can bring comfort and connection. Letters give people something they can hold, reread, and treasure, especially during busy or difficult times.
You do not need special stationery or perfect handwriting. A simple note or postcard can brighten someone's day just as much as a long letter. What matters is that you took the time to write. Often, letters arrive when someone needs a reminder that they are valued and remembered.
National Letter Writing Day is also an opportunity to reconnect across distance. Consider writing to someone you have not spoken to in a while or someone who has made a difference in your life. The act of writing slows us down and helps us reflect on gratitude, memories, and the relationships that matter.
Today, pick up a pen and write to someone you care about. Share a memory, say thank you, offer encouragement, or simply let them know they are on your mind. Your words may travel far, but they will reach straight to the heart.
"To write is human, to receive a letter: Divine!"
~ Susan Lendroth
