🪞😎 Compliment Your Mirror 😎🪞

National Compliment Your Mirror Day is on July 3. We live in an image-driven world. Sometimes this can cause us not to notice and compliment a critical person in our lives, ourselves! This day motivates us to look in the mirror and recognize everything that makes us exceptional, inside and out.

Self-esteem is how you perceive yourself. In other words, it responds to the feelings you get when you think about all the elements that form your personality and physical appearance. This self-evaluation is believed to occur in six different areas.

– One's inherited endowments, including intelligence and physical characteristics

– Feeling likable and lovable

– Being a unique human being, of value and worthy of respect

– Feeling in control or responsible for one's life

– Moral virtue or integrity

– What one has achieved

The emphasis a person gives to any of these areas will most likely change through different stages of life. Children may be more concerned about their perception of how much they are loved, whereas adults might give greater attention to the evaluation of their achievements.

Now, more than ever, there is an increasing need for people to find positive ways to relate to themselves. National Compliment Your Mirror Day is one of these welcome reminders.

How To Celebrate:

  1. Organize An Uplifting Activity

Set people in pairs and ask them to give two compliments to each other — you can do this with family, friends, and even co-workers

  2. Compliment Yourself

Take as long as you like! Just look at yourself in the mirror and acknowledge your awesomeness.

  3. Pamper Yourself

Take this day to take part in activities that make you feel good. This could be a visit to the barber or just finding the time to meditate in silence.

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."

~ Leo Buscaglia
